The BIG 5

Joshy and I celebrated our fifth year anniversary on Aug 22. I cannot believe how fast those five years have gone by. I really feel like we were married just yesterday and am having those feelings of having excited butterflies over the fact that I married the hottest boy ever, still getting used to having a boy sleep next to me and feeling like we are on an endless date, never having to have Joshy leave me. But if I really think about all that we have been through together it does feel like we have been married for five years. We have moved 5 times, both finished 4 years of school graduated, have had two babies, have a mortgage, two car payments, and a real job. Wow! I am so happy with where we are at, it is so fun.
It was Joshy's turn this year to plan our celebration together and he did an awesome job!! He is so cute and such a little closet romantic. He told me the night before what we were doing. He got up early and packed a little lunch for us, while I got ready. My mom watched our kids and we waited for Cam --our friend from HS to come--(more like he waited for us hee hee Thanks Cam) We drove up to the Snake River Hoe back--above Swan Valley and went White Water Rafting!!! Cam was our "guide" hee hee and the Ellsworths came with us!! (Thanks again guys) We went down twice and got a little wet-hee hee I actually fell out of the boat on the BIG KAHUNA --(which I will blame on a kayaker that wouldn't move out of the falls so our boat was on top of him). BUT it was sooo much fun! We haven't been since we had our kiddos and it was fun to actually "do" something with Josh. We then drove through Jackson and over to Victor where we stayed at a B&B--hee hee (thanks Becky for the suggestion) We had dinner at Tony's Pizza and Pasta in driggs that I will give a little shout out for!! Awesome. Then went back and watched a movie together. The next day Joshy had set up a couples massage for us but we both were a little sunburned so we canceled. It was sooo much fun. Thank you Josh for such a great time with you! You are my best.

Splash Park

I love Rexburg!! Funny that while we were there we were so excited to leave! But I love the feel of the town-- it seems so family oriented, it is super clean and beautiful. One of the things we like to do in the summer is to go to the splash park with my sister and her kids and grandma. We had lots of fun playing in the water! Troop LOVED it. He just crawled around from one water spray to the next. Josie did too. Here are some fun pictures:

Brown Cricket!!

I feel like I need to document more of what we did this summer just a little. I am such a bulimic journaler . I go on purges for weeks without writing anything and then have to binge everything hee hee. So anyway we went down to Josh's parents house to help them sheetrock and clean Kurts shop. Most of his family was there--minus Sara and Daniel (miss you guys). Anyway it was alot of fun. They have several Dogs and a new puppy so both of my kids were in heaven. Trooper LOVES dogs. It is so funny to see him shake and giggle with excitement. Josie had lots of fun with her cousins. Sophie is only 2 weeks older so they had lots of fun. Kurt and Denise cooked us a great meal using a cardboard box oven. It was really neat. Anyway after dinner the girls went back outside to play and I guess there was still one briquette that was hot and Josie accidentally stepped on it. OUCH!! She was pretty sad and tried to be brave. Thankfully the EMT and Nurse Aikele had some wonderful burn stuff and we got her fixed up. She is doing fine. Everytime someone comes to our house she wants to tell them the story and instead of saying she stepped on a "briquette" she says she stepped on a brown cricket. hee hee

Garden update

So I thought that I would post a pic of our garden. I am not super happy with it's progress I think that we need more manure--eww but it is doing ok. I think that we just might get something out of it. We have had some tomatoes, squash, zucchini's and I think we will get still get some carrots, peppers, onions, and maybe just maybe some corn. We'll see. If nothing else it is so fun to have Josie and Trooper help plant, weed, water and harvest the garden. Kearsley's let us have some of their salad that was totally (almost) grown from their garden--lettuce too! I was impressed!! How fun! I love this time of year!!

Blogging Spoof

Ok so I am totally stealing this blog topic from my friend Jilly! Sorry! But I had to read this for myself. Last night I browsed a hilarious blog called "Seriously, so blessed."I guess this gal has a blog that is in total jest about blogging. Does that make sense? Most of you have probably already seen it. The Salt Lake Tribune even wrote an article about it and called it "An astutely sharp" and "wickedly dead-on spoof of the suddenly trendy married Mormon blog phenomenon." The author basically pokes fun at how the majority of married LDS women who have blogs paint their lives to be pictures of perfection. It is pretty wild how quickly the blogging trend spread. AND I do think that it is easy paint your life just wonderful. I have to even admit that sometimes I wonder how some of the things that I post will be taken or seen by others-- Anyways I read for a while last night and just laughed and laughed. Partly because I totally fit into some of the sterotypes (or at least know many that do) that she is making fun of. I think that it is healthy to laugh at yourself every now and then. Just to highlight a few funny things--I think you really need to check it out yourselves --but she has a baby ticker and a Twilight count down, she posts brags about her vacations and creations, her wedding, her husband and her church calling. I hope that no one will take offense to what is on her blog remember it is just a joke. But I did enjoy it.
It made me reflect on blogging and why I personally do it cause I really like it and wonder why. I think that for me, my blog is a place that I have to vent a little. It is a poor excuse for a journal but I do think that it is a great way to write down my thoughts and things that happen to my kids and family. I love love love going to others blogs and seeing what is happening in their lives. Its a great way to keep in touch with one another. Seems like life gets busy and I don't take time to call and catch up on my friends's lives but if I can go to their blogs it is great. I am totally ok with being in the sterotype of bloggers cause I love it--but I try to not paint my life as perfect--( those that know us will totally agree that that would be a very hard thing to do-hee hee)Or to not be something that I am not. One of the really funny and kinda sad things that I read on her blog was that for YW night they made super tight shirts that say "Modest is hottest"--funny right but so true. How often do we do something that completely contradicts the very thing that we are striving for. No I don't have that T'shirt but it made me reflect on the daily things that I do or don't do but that I really believe in and am not FULLY living. I really want to live what I believe and so I am going to strive to do better, and to live my life truer to what I believe. What do you think?

Jammies!!

So I love kids in jammies!! I think that is them at their cutest! So I snapped a picture of my kids in their pjs. Not that these are the cutest but they are pretty funny. First Josie is in a killer soft white vintage two piece --I say vintage because these were a pair of my old Jammies!! hee hee I swear my mom keeps everything-hee hee. I just cannot help but giggle at these cause they have rows of ruffles on the chest and they actually go pretty lowin front--they really remind me of John Travoltas Saturday Night Fever. hee hee Troop is sporting some pretty cute snuggly ones. He is so big!! I just added his pic so he wouldn't feel left out!!
